LOGLINE
A northern potato farming couple learns the rules of a new relationship and how to live with different sexual orientations and needs that test the limits of love.
SYNOPSIS (500 characters)
The potato farmer couple's fresh relationship leans on openness and honesty. FIfty-year-old Petri has faced his bisexuality and is learning to be truthful to his partner and himself. For Anu Petri's desire to fulfill his own passions raises new questions about her own desires and expectations in their relationship. Beneath the vast northern landscape is a hidden world of men, which they have tried to keep secret from their spouses, the surrounding community, and, to some extent, even themselves.

Arctic Circle of Lust – director's word
I wanted to make a documentary film that was sensual and believed in sexual openness, but also understood the fears and sensitivities of ordinary people. This was also the starting point for the filming style when depicting sexually charged encounters. For me as a director, less "exposure" would be more, and also more sexually enjoyable for myself. A kind of recycling of Finnish melodramatic imagery into the present day and this "genre," if the genre of my film can even be clearly positioned and defined.
